The law of nature and balance, however, must be accounted for. For proper transmutation to occur, the final product must have the same mass as the original. Alchemist brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric, however, did not take this law into account, and were punished severely. To survive, Alphonse was imbued within a lifeless metal statue, where Edward restored his severed limbs with metallic replacements.
Now, Edward and Alphonse are in search of a single, mystical object that ignores this law of nature: The Philosopher's Stone. With this item they can recover their missing body parts.Through their travels they will defend themselves from others trying to stop them from acquiring the Stone. It is here where the Elric brothers will make their stand and prove to the world that they are the greatest alchemists of all.
